The Justice of Kings

by Richard, Richard Swan · 2022

In the Empire of the Wolf, unrest simmers as rebels, heretics and powerful patricians threaten the imperial throne. Only the Order of Justices stands between chaos and order, and its most feared member, Sir Konrad Vonvalt, serves as detective, judge and executioner. With razor‑sharp intellect, arcane abilities and masterful swordplay, Konrad, aided by his orphaned protégé Helena Sedanka, investigates the murder of a provincial aristocrat. Their inquiry uncovers a conspiracy that reaches the highest echelons of Imperial society, forcing the duo to decide whether to uphold the law they swore to protect or to bend it to save the empire. A blend of gritty action, political intrigue and vivid magic, this debut introduces a compelling hero whose choices could reshape a kingdom on the brink of collapse.
