In the fourth installment of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, Coast Guard vet Carl, his ex‑girlfriend’s cat Princess Donut, and their companion Mongo must survive the fifth floor of a multilevel dungeon that doubles as the galaxy’s most‑watched game show. The floor is a gauntlet of bizarre challenges—a floating fortress of warrior gnomes, a sand‑castle, a derelict submarine, and a haunted crypt—each guarded by traps and hostile crawlers. With a new achievement titled “Total, Utter Failure,” the team must rely on low‑level crawlers they can’t trust to capture four castles in fifteen days and unlock the stairwell to the next level. The novel blends fast‑paced LitRPG action, dark humor, and a dystopian setting where survival is a game.
