Vicious

by V.E. Schwab · 2013

Vicious follows Victor and Eli, brilliant college roommates whose shared obsession with adrenaline and near‑death experiences leads them to unlock extraordinary abilities. Their friendship turns into a deadly rivalry when a risky experiment goes wrong, setting them on opposite paths of vengeance. Ten years later, Victor escapes prison to hunt Eli, while Eli hunts down anyone with powers, aided by a mysterious ally. The novel explores ambition, jealousy, betrayal, and the moral grayness of heroes and villains in a gritty, comic‑book‑style world.
