Spells for Forgetting

by Adrienne Young · 2022

When Emery Blackwood’s world shattered on the night her best friend Lily was found dead and her lover August Salt was accused of the murder, she fled the promise of a shared future and settled into a quiet life on the mist‑shrouded Saoirse Island, running her family’s tea shop and herbal tonics. Years later, the island’s ancient folklore awakens: every tree turns a strange hue overnight, and August returns after fourteen years to bury his mother’s ashes. As the community’s superstitions stir and old wounds reopen, Emery must confront the love she thought she’d left behind and the secrets the island has kept hidden. With ancestral magic, a lingering mystery, and a second chance at true love, this atmospheric novel weaves a spellbinding tale of betrayal, redemption, and the power of forgetting and remembering.
