To Bind Fire

by D E Carlson · 2023

When frightened Iris accidentally kills a mysterious stranger, she is thrust into a war‑torn realm where fire itself seems to whisper her name. The Crown Prince of the Fire Empire, Besaun, would rather tinker than rule, yet destiny binds them together: Iris’s hidden lineage is linked to a devastating secret that threatens to consume the world, and Besaun’s reluctant claim to the throne may be the only hope for salvation. As the flames rise, Iris must confront the darkest corners of her past, master the very element that both empowers and endangers her, and decide whether love and courage can bind fire enough to halt the empire’s descent into ash. A sweeping fantasy of prophecy, sacrifice, and a tender romance, perfect for readers who love the mythic stakes of Narnia, the lyrical intensity of ACOTAR, and the hopeful heart of Caraval.
