Pumpkinheads

by Faith Erin Hicks, Rainbow Rowell · 2019

In the heart of Omaha’s legendary pumpkin patch, senior Deja and Josiah have spent every autumn side‑by‑side, swapping jokes, slinging lima beans, and saying goodbye each Halloween before reuniting on September 1. This year, their final season looms, and while Josiah is ready to drown in melancholy, Deja refuses to let the night slip away. She hatches a wild plan to turn their last shift into a whirlwind adventure—racing through fair stalls, sampling every snack, and finally giving Josiah the courage to speak to the girl he’s adored for three years. Co‑written by bestselling author Rainbow Rowell and Eisner‑winning artist Faith Erin Hicks, Pumpkinheads blends tender humor and vivid illustration to capture the bittersweet thrill of saying goodbye without regrets.
