Rosemary’s Baby

by Ira Levin · 1967

Rosemary Woodhouse and her struggling actor husband Guy move into the Bramford, an elegant but ominous New York City apartment building with a strange past. After becoming pregnant, Rosemary begins to suspect that her neighbors, the eccentric Roman and Minnie Castavet, are part of a diabolical satanic conspiracy. As she feels increasingly isolated and paranoid, she fears that this group is manipulating her life and intends to claim her unborn baby. The novel masterfully weaves psychological tension with supernatural horror, exploring themes of maternal fear, ambition, and the unsettling darkness hidden within everyday life.
